A birth and breastfeeding storytelling project for People of Color in the Las Vegas Valley.

Cassandra was a Greek mythological character who was gifted with the power of prophecy, by Apollo, when she promised herself to him. She changed her mind and rebuffed him. In his anger, he cursed her, so that no one would ever believe her again.

We chose Cassandra's name because she was denied choice, body sovereignty, and her true prophecies were not believed until it was too late for her and her people.

Black and Brown birthing people experience many inequities during their birth and breast/chest feeding journeys, and when we speak up, we are not being believed. Our truths are dismissed.

It is time to stand together in our truth and tell our stories.
